Paris Saint-Germain manager, Luis Enrique, has acknowledged that Arsenal poses a significant threat at set-pieces.
Enrique stated that PSG will prepare for the match in the same way they would for any other team in Ligue 1, emphasizing that their overall approach to the game won’t change because of Arsenal’s set-piece strength.
However, he stressed that his team would not implement a special strategy to counter it.
Arsenal has been a formidable force from corners and free-kicks over the last two seasons, with set-piece coach Nicolas Jover widely credited for improving the club’s performances in this area.
Mikel Arteta will certainly be hoping for continued success in this aspect when they face PSG in the Champions League semi-final next week.
“We will prepare the same way as we did against Liverpool,” Enrique said at a press conference when asked about Arsenal’s set-piece threat.
“Liverpool are a team with at least as much potential as Arsenal, if not more.”
Enrique added, “We will not prepare our team specifically for this one aspect of the game. But it’s clear that we need to be competitive everywhere.”
