Real Madrid Honors Legend Rudy Fernandez

Real Madrid paid respect to Rudy Fernandez on Friday, after he announced his retirement from professional basketball.

Fernández had previously stated his desire to withdraw from the sport.

However, in a statement posted on their website, Real Madrid expressed respect and affection for one of their greatest icons.

“Following Rudy Fernández’s announcement of his retirement as a professional basketball player, Real Madrid C. F. would like to express its gratitude, affection and admiration to one of the greatest legends of our club and world basketball,” a portion of the statement said.

Fernández joined Real Madrid in 2011.

During his 13 seasons with the club, he won 26 titles in 754 games.

The trophies include three European Cups, six Copa del Rey, one Intercontinental Cup, seven league crowns, and nine Spanish Super Cups.
