Redknapp Urges Man United to Sell Bruno Fernandes

Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has advised Manchester United to consider selling their captain, Bruno Fernandes, during the summer transfer window.

Redknapp, speaking on Sky Sports, suggested that United could use the funds from Fernandes’ sale to reinvest in the squad, particularly as new manager Ruben Amorim looks to reshape the team following a disappointing campaign.

Despite being United’s standout performer this season, Fernandes could be on his way out if the club receives the right offer. Manchester United finished a disappointing 15th in the Premier League, prompting calls for a major squad overhaul.

“I think apart from Leny Yoro, purely because he hasn’t been there long and he’s a young player, I think every single United player will be up for sale,” Redknapp stated.

He continued: “I would [sell Fernandes] right now, yeah, and I’m a big fan. I think he is a game-changer, but I think if the right money came about and you could then invest into the squad… I think he is a good player, a top footballer. But if the right money were to come available and you can improve your squad, it makes sense.”

Fernandes, 30, has reportedly attracted interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League. The Portuguese playmaker is said to be open to a move if Manchester United no longer sees him as part of their plans.

He has reportedly told the club that if they want to make money and no longer require his services, he is open to an exit.

With Ruben Amorim expected to oversee significant changes this summer, the decision on Fernandes’ future could be a key moment in United’s rebuild.
