Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has declared that this year represents his best opportunity to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or, following an outstanding season that helped guide manager Arne Slot’s side to the Premier League title.
The 32-year-old has netted 28 goals and provided 18 assists in the league this campaign, leading the race for the Golden Boot.
Having signed a two-year contract extension with Liverpool in April, Salah is among the front-runners for the award, with the winner set to be revealed at a ceremony in Paris on September 22.
“I would say I never had a season like this and winning big trophies, so I would say this is my best chance to get it right now while I’m in the club because it’s been a crazy year, a crazy season with a trophy,” Salah told Sky Sports. “It’s given me a good chance.”
Salah faces stiff competition from Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal and Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé, both instrumental in their teams clinching league titles this season.
