UCL: Liverpool’s Win Over PSG Was a ‘Robbery’ – Carragher

Liverpool ace Jamie Carragher has described his team’s 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain PSG on Wednesday night as “one of the biggest robberies in football.”

Harvey Elliott scored in the 87th minute at the Parc des Princes after coming on as a substitute.

It left the Reds with a slender lead going into the second leg of their Champions League last-16 encounter.

Elliott was Liverpool’s sole effort on target in a game dominated by Ligue 1 champions.

PSG had 27 efforts on target, 10 of them on target, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s first-half goal was ruled out for being just offside, but Alisson Becker’s heroics restricted the French side.

When asked if Liverpool got away with it, Carragher told CBS Sports: “Got away with it? That’s one of the biggest robberies you’ll ever seen in football.

“It really is. I can’t believe what I’ve just seen, I can’t.

“PSG were absolutely outstanding, they were brilliant. They battered Liverpool.”
