UEFA has suspended English referee David Coote until June 30, 2026.
The European governing body announced this on Friday.
Last December, Coote was dismissed by English football’s refereeing authority after a video of him making insulting remarks about former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp was leaked on social media.
UEFA also initiated an investigation into Coote after a second video purportedly of him sniffing white powder at Euro 2024 was leaked.
The latest rulings from UEFA’s control, ethics, and disciplinary body maintained the ban on Coote from all UEFA refereeing activity.
The referee was banned for breaching the “basic rules of decent conduct” and bringing “the sport of football, and UEFA in particular, into disrepute.”
