Police Arrest Three in Osun, Recover Stolen Items

The Osun State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers and recovered several stolen items during coordinated operations across the state.

Police spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, disclosed the development in a statement issued in Osogbo, noting that the arrests followed intelligence-led investigations and collaboration with local security outfits.

The suspects—Akinwale Morufu, Banji Tope, and Banji Olumide—were linked to multiple incidents, including armed robbery and theft. Recovered items include a locally made pistol, a mobile phone, ATM card, motorcycle, and other personal belongings.

“Investigation is ongoing to arrest other members at large,” the release said.

Police also reported a separate incident in Iragbiji, where a gas seller was shot by robbers who stole cash, phones, and a motorcycle. One suspect was later arrested, and the stolen motorcycle recovered.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining security across the state through continued collaboration with stakeholders.
