Asake and Central Cee have teamed up to drop their latest track, “Wave,” an exhilarating blend of melodic hooks and hard-hitting verses.
“I had recorded the chorus for this song during one of my sessions with Magicsticks in Lagos. I was expressing how I wanted to focus only on the positive things and not be distracted by side conversations.
After meeting Central Cee at my Barclays show in New York, we decided to hang out. We offered to meet in a studio, and he wanted us to work together. He recorded the song that night, and we all loved it.
We originally planned to work on another song in London, but ‘Wave’ was just the perfect record, so we stuck with it. Central Cee came to Lagos, we shot the video and had an amazing time.”
