Abia Task Force Arrests 11 Fake Revenue Collectors in Aba

Abia State Harmonized Task Force (ASHTF) has arrested eleven fraudulent revenue collectors on Ehi Road, Aba.

The fraudulent revenue collectors were apprehended on Sunday by ASHTF and police in an early morning exercise spearheaded by Uche Wogu, Aba Area Coordinator of the Abia State Harmonized Task Force.

Miracle Chukwunenye, media consultant of ASHTF, announced the arrest of the unauthorized revenue collectors.

The team arrested 11 persons and took them to Aba’s Ndiegoro Police Station, Chukwunenye said.

He said the suspects were reportedly collecting taxes for different places, claiming that the Aba South Local Government Area authorized them in 2017.

Five car mechanics were also arrested in the city and turned over to the Ndiegoro Police Division after their activities obstructed or damaged major roads.

Abia State Harmonized Taskforce alerted impostor revenue collectors to stop their illegal actions or face punishment, and advised traders to pay into government accounts only and report false revenue agents to the Abia State government.
