Adamawa Approves N2.9bn To Rebuild Yola Town Market

The Adamawa State Government has approved the sum of N2,937,217,120.45 for the rehabilitation of the Yola Town market.

The market was razed by fire about six months ago.

The new market would be completed in nine months and would accommodate sixty-nine modern shops.

The approval was made known to the media by Dr. John Dabari, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, shortly after the State Executive Council meeting at Government House in Yola on Wednesday, presided over by the Deputy Governor, Kaletapwa Farauta.

According to Dabari, the market is to be remodeled with modern architectural designs that would help reduce the tendency of fire incidence.

He said it was a decision that the government had to make to ensure that the market was rebuilt and full commercial activities resumed in Yola Town.
