Adamawa Police Arrest Two Over Brutal Murder, Beheading Minor

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with the gruesome murder and beheading of a 10-year-old boy, believed to be linked to ritual practices.

According to a statement by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made by police operatives from the Divisional Headquarters in Jada, following the discovery of the crime.

The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Abdul Malik, 27, and Aliyu Abdul Malik, 18, both from Anguwan Sarkin Yamma, Jada, were accused of killing and beheading Abdalla Lawali, a 10-year-old Almajiri from Anguwar Dubai, Jada.

The child had been reported missing on March 7, 2025, prompting an ongoing search. On March 16, credible information led authorities to arrest the two suspects. Following their arrest, a decomposed body was discovered in a sack bag at the crime scene. A subsequent search at the suspects’ residence uncovered the boy’s severed head buried in a shallow grave on the property.

During questioning, the suspects confessed to the crime, expressing regret and attributing their actions to devilish influences.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, condemned the brutal act and ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.

CP Morris reassured the public that justice would prevail and urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their communities to the police.
