There was yet another explosion at a pipeline manifold in Omwawriwa village, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, Rivers State.
The explosion occurred on Tuesday night, only hours after a similar incident struck the Shell-operated Trans Niger Pipeline in Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area.
The recent explosion was said to have occurred at a manifold connected to a government pipeline deep in the forest.
The pipeline affected is supposed to carry crude oil to Brass in Bayelsa State.
Although there has been no official confirmation, residents of the community said they saw massive flames and thick smoke coming from an oil facility in the area.
Rivers State Police Command Spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, has said she will look into the matter.
