Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the passing of Afenifere leader Pa Ayo Adebanjo is a great loss to Nigeria.
Atiku paid a condolence visit to the family of Adebanjo on Sunday, praising the virtues and dedication of the late leader to national unity.
Atiku noted the mentorship and advisory roles of Adebanjo, stating that his legacy would be remembered by those who admired him.
He appreciated the leader for his contributions to Nigerian unity and peace and sent his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, are other prominent personalities who have condoled.
Pa Adebanjo, 96, died in his Lekki, Lagos home on February 14, 2025.
