Benue State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has begun selling nomination forms for local government council polls across the state.
Oryina Orvaa, the party’s publicity secretary, said this in a statement released on Monday.
According to him, “The chairmanship form is N100,000 payable into the party’s account, with N50,000 as an expression of interest payable at the party’s State Secretariat.”
“The councillorship form costs N70,000 and must be paid to the party’s bank account, with an expression of interest fee of N20,000 payable to the State Secretariat.
“Female candidates for both seats, however, are just required to obtain expressions of interest forms at the prescribed fees, while nomination forms are free for everybody.
“Sales and submission of forms shall close on Saturday, 24th August, 2024.”
He stated that screening of applicants will begin on August 25, 2024.
“The screening of chairmanship aspirants will hold in Makurdi at the party secretariat, while the screening of councillorship aspirants will be conducted at the various zonal headquarters,” according to him.
Orvaa also urged all party members to follow this direction as the party prepares to win all chairmanship and councillorship seats in the upcoming local council elections in Benue State.
