Boko Haram Terrorist Surrenders To Troops

The Multinational Joint Task Force said a wanted Boko Haram terrorist, Bochu Abacha, had turned himself in to the troops operating in Borno State’s Kukawa Local Government Area.

Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osaba, the Chief Military Information Officer of MNJTF, Ndjamena, said this in a press statement issued on Saturday in Maiduguri.

Osaba said that Abacha, who played a key role in several terrorist activities, confessed to participating in several terrorist operations along the Mongunu-Baga axis.

He said Abacha blamed his capitulation on the unrelenting operations of the MNJTF and his dwindling interest in the cause.

Osaba further revealed that upon his surrender, Abacha handed over one AK-47 gun, a magazine loaded with 11 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, a mobile phone, an Airtel Sim card, and N32,500.

He stated that the suspect was cooperating with useful information with the investigators.

Meanwhile, in another raid, MNJTF personnel, in conjunction with intelligence officers, ambushed Boko Haram militants conveying gigantic logistics supplies in three Toyota trucks under the cover of darkness.

He added that the troops were soon into a hard gun battle with the terrorists, killing one and putting the rest on flight, abandoning their supplies.

Osaba further disclosed that among the recovered items were three Toyota vehicles loaded with sundry goods and weird items, including N2,000.
