Borno Police Arrest Three for Theft of Sewing Machines

Three suspects, including a security guard, have been arrested by Borno State Police Command for allegedly stealing 19 sewing machine heads from the Dala Lawanti Skills Acquisition Center in Maiduguri.

Police Public Relations Officer ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso stated that the suspects—34-year-old Kaka Modu Mustapha, and two minors, Bukar Mustapha (16) and Ibrahim Mohammed (17)—were implicated in the theft, which took place on March 22.

Six of the stolen sewing machine heads have since been recovered, and attempts are underway to retrieve the remaining items. The suspects will be charged to court after the investigation has been concluded.

The Dala Lawanti Skills Acquisition Center is a vocational training scheme aimed at empowering youths and women through the acquisition of skills.

Reaffirming its resolve to keep the location safe, the Borno State Police Command appealed to citizens to be vigilant and inform security personnel of any suspicious activities.
