The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the deployment of 1,889 personnel to ensure smooth traffic and road safety during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in Kano State.
Sector Commander Masa’udu Matazu disclosed this in a statement issued by Corps spokesman Abdullahi Labaran.
According to Matazu, the personnel include 1,348 regular marshals and 541 special marshals strategically positioned along key routes and highways throughout Kano State. The special patrol operation is scheduled from March 27 to April 2.
He noted that the FRSC has also deployed five ambulances, patrol vehicles, a heavy-duty tow truck, and other essential operational equipment to facilitate effective traffic control and rapid emergency responses.
“This is to ensure free flow of traffic on critical road junctions, and safety of lives and properties on highways,” he stated.
Matazu urged all drivers to comply strictly with traffic laws, cautioning against reckless behaviors such as car racing and underage driving during the festivities.
“The FRSC Kano Sector Command wishes the good people of the state a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah celebration,” Matazu added.
The deployment is designed to prevent traffic congestion, maintain orderly vehicle movements, and enhance overall road safety across Kano during the festive period.
