The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned three individuals before a Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly threatening violence with a firearm.
The accused persons—Agbadaola Seun (43), Ojurongbe Daramola (40), and Adedara Sunday (70)—were brought before Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun over charges related to felony and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
During the court session, the prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the incident occurred on March 15 at about 5:00pm in Ilawe-Ekiti.
The defendants “did threaten violence with gun against High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi,” Inspector Oriyomi said.
He further informed the court that:
The defendants “on same date, time and place, did conspire together to commit offence to wit conduct likely.”
The prosecutor explained that the alleged offenses are punishable under Sections 421, 69(a), and 181(1)(d) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
Defense counsel, Olumide Olowolafe, pleaded for bail on behalf of the accused persons, assuring the court of their cooperation.
He urged the court to grant his client bail, saying “they will not jump bail.”
In his ruling, Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun granted each of the defendants bail in the sum of ₦100,000 with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned until May 9, 2025, for further hearing.
