FCT Police Arrest Two Armed Robbery Suspects, Recover Stolen Vehicle

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command arrested two armed robbery suspects and recovered a hijacked Toyota Corolla (year 2017 model) registration number 01C 11 NS. It was hijacked at gunpoint along Kabusa Junction in Apo.

From sources of information, the arrest followed a distress call issued by Ayuba Wandai Usman of Plot 1980, Apo Resettlement, that his sister’s car had been car-jacked by three men dressed in armed attire at about 10:15 p.m.

As soon as they got the report, police officers immediately tracked the stolen vehicle to an unfinished building at Oladipupo Diya Street in Durumi. When they got there, officers saw two men attempting to set the car on fire. The men attempted to flee, but were pursued and arrested immediately.

A later police raid of the unfinished building resulted in ten men and three women being arrested, along with the confiscation of various instruments believed to have been used for illegal purposes.

Police sources also confirmed the hijacked vehicle, which was already tampered with, was taken to the station for further examination. The suspects now give useful information to aid current investigations.

The authorities have promised the people that they would do their best to combat crime in the FCT and encouraged the citizens to be watchful and report anything suspicious.
