The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into a fatal train accident that resulted in the death of an unidentified woman along the Gwagwa-Idu railway line.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the tragic incident occurred on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Adeh reported that police responded promptly after receiving a distress call about an unconscious woman on the railway tracks located behind Zeberced Company in Idu.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a lifeless and severely disfigured female body, presumed to have been struck by a moving train.
The victim’s remains were immediately evacuated to Kubwa General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed her death.
Authorities are actively working to establish the woman’s identity and contact her family members.
“The Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, DCP Isyaku Sharu, urges residents to exercise caution around railway lines and adhere to safety regulations.
“Anyone with useful information should contact the police,” the statement added.
