The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that seven persons died in an accident that occurred on Ibadan-Iseyin road on Thursday evening.
Public Relations Officer, FRSC, Oyo Sector Command, Mr. Mayowa Odewo said the deceased were five elderly men, an elderly woman and a girl.
Odewo said 15 of the 22 people involved in the incident also suffered varying degrees of injuries.
He talked about the incident involving the Nissan Urvan commercial bus (registration number: SEY 254 ZY) and the Mazda commercial bus (registration number: LGB 343 XA), which resulted in crime and negligence.
Odewo said 13 injured people, including 3 elderly men, 9 elderly women and 1 girl, were taken to a nearby hospital.
He said that 4 of the 7 bodies of the victims were received by their families, and the remaining 3 were kept in the morgue.
“Officers from the Traffic Section of the MTD Police Station, Moniya, Ibadan, seized two crashed vehicles, including luggage and other valuables obtained from the exploitation of the victims,” he said.
Motorists have been urged to comply with the usual rules and regulations and comply with all traffic warnings on the road to avoid accidents, NAN reported.
