Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has revealed that he knows individuals who allegedly paid for ministerial appointments under President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
In an interview with BBC Hausa, El-Rufai clarified that his decision to distance himself from the APC was not influenced by his personal experience regarding ministerial appointments.
“Did I seek to be a minister? I know people who paid to get ministerial appointments,” El-Rufai said.
He emphasized that leaving the party was not his choice; instead, he felt the party had departed from its original ideals, effectively abandoning him.
El-Rufai further criticized the APC’s current approach, pointing out that those who genuinely contributed to the party’s success were neither recognized nor rewarded.
