Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has wrapped up the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, recording 3,748,704 completed registrations nationwide.
The update, released at the close of the exercise on April 17, 2026, shows strong public engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Of the total figure, 2,259,288 registrations were completed through the online pre-registration system, while 1,489,416 were finalized physically at designated centres.
INEC noted that these numbers remain provisional and will undergo further verification.
With registration now concluded for this phase, the commission is moving to the next step—public display of the voter register for claims and objections. This exercise will run from April 20 to April 26, allowing citizens to confirm their details and flag any irregularities.
The commission encouraged registrants to participate actively, particularly in identifying duplicate entries, deceased persons, and non-citizens.
The CVR exercise is being conducted in phases, with the next round scheduled to begin on May 4 and continue until August 17, 2026.
