The Kano State Government has extended market closing hours from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. during the holy month of Ramadan.
Abdul Bashir Hussein, Managing Director of State Markets Management Board, made this disclosure.
Sabon Gari, Singa, and Galadima are among the markets affected, he explains.
The extension is aimed at boosting business activities and providing locals with more time to buy Ramadan necessities, according to Hussein.
He also added that individuals from surrounding states shop in Kano markets during Salah, and urged the traders to work with market officials in securing goods and customers.
The Managing Director commended the traders for their continued cooperation with the Kano State Government led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
