The Kano State Police Command has arrested 33-year-old Anas Yakubu following allegations that he murdered his sister-in-law, Fatima Adamu, in Baura Village, located in the Albasu Local Government Area.
This arrest was reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama on the social platform X this past Monday.
The tragic event unfolded on March 16 at around 12:30 p.m. after an argument escalated between Yakubu and Adamu. During the altercation, “Yakubu allegedly hit Adamu, 35, with a pestle on the head, causing severe injuries,” according to the post.
Adamu was urgently transported to the General Hospital in Albasu, where she was pronounced dead by the attending medical staff.
Following the incident, the police swiftly detained Yakubu. Meanwhile, Adamu’s family has taken custody of her body to perform burial rites in accordance with Islamic traditions.
