Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has promised the people of Ba-jiza and Rausa Kade villages in Arewa Local Government Area that his government is committed to combating insecurity following a deadly attack by bandits.
Nasir Idris, who visited the communities on Saturday, condoled with the families of the victims and promised them improved security in the area.
“I will ensure that the security architecture of the area becomes more effective and efficient to prevent future attacks,” the governor said.
He also ordered the drilling of three motorized boreholes, two in Ba-jiza and one in Rausa Kad, to provide people with clean water.
Six people lost their lives during the raid last Thursday, while bandits carted off livestock, including cows and goats.
In another move to improve the people, Idris ordered the quick completion of an uncompleted mosque at Rausa Kade and instructed the Local Government Chairman to ensure its completion within two weeks.
The governor also vowed to work with neighboring Sokoto State to enhance security relations and combat banditry.
Hon. Sani Aliyu, Arewa Local Government Chairman, praised the governor for his quick response and security agencies for working to maintain peace in the area.
