The Lagos State Government has released a traffic diversion plan for the restoration of the Lagos-Badagry Carriageway.
Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the state Commissioner for Transportation, revealed this in a statement released on Friday in Lagos.
Osiyemi stated that the detour, which would last from August 26, 2024 to January 31, 2025, would be divided into phases to reduce difficulty for motorists.
He stated that the first portion of the renovation, which will span the Durbar Junction to Badagry Bound segment (on both toll lanes and service lanes), will begin on August 26 and end on September 30, 2024.
He urged cars to take the following other routes while the first portion was being completed.
“Traffic going to Badagry from Lagos (repair on the toll lane): traffic entering Badagry from Lagos on the toll lane would be diverted to the service lane 100 meters (according to site conditions) away from the proposed repair location.
“And to exit the service lane back to the toll lane 100 meters (subject to site condition) away from the Durbar Junction to continue their journeys,” he instructed them.
Osiyemi stated that traffic coming to Badagry from Lagos (repair on the service lane) would be diverted to the toll lane 100 meters away from the proposed repair spot.
He stated that they would depart the toll lane and return to the service lane 100 meters (according to site conditions) away from Durbar Junction to reach their targeted destinations.
