The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man who stabbed an Uber driver and took his car.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s public relations officer, confirmed the incident to media men in Lagos on Monday.
Hundeyin explained that the incident occurred on Saturday at 7.34 p.m. at Ile-Zik, Agege area of the state.
“An Uber driver, who spoke at Isokoko Division, told that the suspect had entered his Toyota Camry at Nitel on Old Abeokuta Motor Road, Agege, and driven to the Marriott Hotel in GRA, Ikeja.
“As he was driving to Ile-Zik along the way, the suspect pulled out a sharp object, stabbed him all over his body and drove away his car,” he said.”.
Hundeyin reported that the police officers in the team followed the car to Oshodi, where the suspect was apprehended.
“He was promptly arrested and the car was taken from him to the station,” he told the press.
The victim was also taken to the hospital for treatment, the police spokesperson added.
Hundeyin disclosed that the case was still under investigation.
