Lagos State and 3 Other States Get New Police Commissioners

The Police Service Commission, PSC, has approved the appointment of four Commissioners of Police for Lagos, Abia, Ebonyi, and Akwa Ibom Commands.

The commission’s head of press and public relations, Ikechukwu Ani made the announcement on Friday.

According to the press statement, the appointments filled the vacancies occasioned by the elevation of some senior officers.

The new police commissioners include: Isah Danladi Nda, Abia; Olarewaju Ishola Olawale, Lagos; Anthonia Adaku Uche Anya, Ebonyi; and Miller Gajere Dantawaye, Akwa Ibom command.

Commenting on the posting, PSC chairman Hashimu Argungu charged the new police commissioners to make excellent contributions to the security administration in their various states.

He charged the new commissioners with building an efficient and competent force in respective jurisdictions.

According to her, the approval has been communicated to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for implementation.

Dantawaye is to replace the late police commissioner in Akwa Ibom state, Waheed Ayilara, who died on August 29, 2024.

Ayilara was reported to have died from complications of prostate cancer at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.
