Nigerian Army, NSCDC Recover 15 Vandalized Pipelines in Kaduna

The Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Kaduna State Command, has recovered 15 vandalized pipelines at Narayi village.

Commandant of the Corps, NB Muhammadu Dansadau, stated that the corps has recovered the seized 15 wrecked water pipelines and a vehicle and that the investigation would continue until the culprits are caught.

The NSCDC Kaduna State Commandant, NB Muhammadu Dansadau, appreciated the Army personnel in Forward Operating Base Nariya, Kaduna State, for sustaining the present cooperation between the two institutions.

He also appreciated the initiative of the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, in supporting the corps with materials that aid it to carry out its function of protecting people, property, and Critical National Assets.

CC NB NSCDC Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi was also commended by Muhammadu Dansadau for his continuous efforts towards the reduction of vandalship in the nation.

He reassured the Nigerian Army, the Kaduna State Government, and citizens of the state that the synergy will continue.

“I am happy that the activities of vandals are being exposed by the military and the good people of Kaduna State.

“I appeal to the citizens of the state to always provide vital information to the command to fight the scourge of pipeline vandalism and all related crimes in the state.”

In a related development, the NSCDC personnel of the Rapid Response Squad have arrested a 26-year-old suspected phone snatcher.

The suspect, Mr. Emmanuel Cletus Obo, who confessed to the crime, said he had sold five stolen phones to one Aliyu Umar, who sells phones in Unguwan Rimi.

He also confirmed that he had been snatching phones in Barnawa, Unguwan Rimi, Kurmin Mashi, Badikko, Unguwan Sanusi, and Kawo, all in Kaduna State.

“At about 18:41 hours on 18/2/2025, following credible intelligence, the NSCDC Kaduna State Command, under the able leadership of Commandant Nuhu Bello Muhammadu Dansadau, recorded a huge success in arresting a phone snatcher and a buyer.

“In a confessional statement, the suspect said he had stolen several other phones and sold them to various buyers.

“The phone snatcher and the buyer are currently in our detention facilities for further investigation and possible prosecution.”

According to him, the arrested suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.
