Another notorious bandit leader, Gajere, also known as Mai’Yar Gitta, was killed by gunshot injuries.
Gitta was injured in a recent gun duel with his comrades-of-crime when troops engaged them in a fierce battle at Dankurmi village, Dansadau Local Government Area.
However, the notorious bandit leader was confirmed dead yesterday in Kawaye village, Bagega Ward, Anka Local Government Area, from his injuries, Makama Zagazola confirmed.
Gitta’s killing is the latest of several senior bandit leaders killed as Nigerian troops conduct clearance operations.
Among those killed in that period were such notable bandit leaders as Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu; Kachalla Tukur Sharme, who was killed by a rival gang; Sani Black, who was killed with his brother and two of his children; Kachalla Makore; Kachalla Mai Shayi; Kachalla Tsoho Lulu; and Mai’Yar Gitta.
