NYSC Invalidates 101 Fraudulent Certificates

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has recently declared 101 certificates invalid due to fraudulent mobilization for national service.

Eddy Megwa, the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, announced this decision in a statement released on Monday in Abuja.

According to Megwa, these 101 individuals were improperly mobilized by the University of Calabar for the NYSC service years of 2021, 2022, and 2023. Of these, 99 were incorrectly listed for service, while the remaining two were mistakenly exempted.

The NYSC management emphasizes its unwavering commitment to ensuring that only qualified Nigerian youth, both local and foreign-trained, are recognized. This includes a thorough vetting process to exclude those purportedly graduating from unaccredited institutions.

“The NYSC certificates of these individuals have been invalidated with immediate effect,” Megwa stated.

He called on the public, including corps employers, government agencies, corporate bodies, and other stakeholders, to be vigilant and act promptly on this matter.

Additionally, Megwa encouraged the public to verify the authenticity of NYSC certificates, exemption letters, and exclusion letters by contacting the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja.
