Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the general election of 2023, has expressed his sorrow on the passing of Ekene Abubakar Adams, the party’s member of the House of Representatives.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, a member of the Labour Party in the House of Representatives from Kaduna State,” said Obi on his X handle on Tuesday. I send my sincere sympathies to his wife, family, and other close friends.
“The country is mourning the unfortunate loss of his premature death at the age of 39.
“In his short tenure as Chairman of the House Committee on Sports and Representative of the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Hon. Adams has already made significant contributions to the development of Nigerian sports.” His enthusiasm and expertise in this sector will be sorely missed.
“May God Almighty who called him home at this time, forgive his sins and grant him eternal rest, and grant his family, and all of us, the fortitude to bear his sad irreplaceable loss.”
Obi begged that God Almighty receive the souls of the deceased and comfort his family.
