The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old Pastor, Ijebor Simon, and Destiny Okojabhole, 23, for the alleged murder of a seven-year-old boy, Evans Okojabhole, in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area.
Spokesman to the Command, Moses Yamu, stated so in a press statement made to men of the media on Wednesday.
Yamu stated the alleged murder of the child was brought to the attention of the Irrua Divisional Headquarters by one John Okhojibole of Jehovah Witness Road, off Elebesunu Street, Irrua.
He added that the incident occurred on February 22, 2025, at about 1.45 p.m.
The complainant, John Okhojibole, said that the body of his seven-year-old son was discovered with his stomach cut open, his legs chopped off, and left abandoned in the bush close to his house 24 hours after his disappearance.
The two suspects were arrested in initial investigations by officers of Irrua Divisional Headquarters, the Command’s spokesman stated.
He stated that the case has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigations Department Benin-City for investigation.
