A kidnapping attempt was thwarted by security operatives in Katsina State on April 19, resulting in the successful rescue of ten victims without harm.
According to intelligence sources cited by Zagazola Makama, the incident unfolded at approximately 9:35 p.m. when armed individuals suspected to be bandits blocked the Funtua-Gusau Road near Marabar Bangori Village.
“Upon receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Faskari Division promptly mobilized a team of patrol officers to the scene,” Makama shared on X.
The police team engaged the suspected bandits in a gun battle, which ultimately led to the safe rescue of all the kidnapped victims.
“Two Golf vehicles, which had been hijacked by the perpetrators, were also recovered during the operation.”
Authorities confirmed that all victims were rescued unharmed, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
The Katsina State Police Command praised the swift and courageous actions of its officers and reaffirmed its dedication to tackling crime and ensuring the safety of residents in the state.
