Abia State Governor Alex Otti has urged members of the Labour Party, LP, in Edo State to safeguard their votes in the September 21 gubernatorial election.
Otti said this during a rally in Benin, while speaking in company of Olumide Akpata, the Labour Party candidate for the Edo gubernatorial. The party he noted would protect its votes.
He said he was optimistic that the people of Edo would vote for the LP, adding that he was in Edo to advise the people on the need to protect their votes.
“In Abia state, for four days, we didn’t sleep. When you sleep, they will steal your vote.
“Youth, after voting, they have to remain in all polling stations and ensure votes are kept safe.
“Follow the results from the units to the wards, the local government, and the state collation centers,” Otti said to reporters.
The governor of Abia said he has confidence in Akpata and his running mate Yusuf Kadiri, maintaining that they were the best leadership pair for Edo.
