Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff, claims the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) deployed aircraft in Gombe State after the #EndBadgovernance protest was hijacked by unscrupulous individuals.
He stated that “the situation required additional security measures.”
AVM Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, stated that the aircraft was sent for surveillance operations.
According to the statement, the Air Force’s regimental forces worked alongside other security agencies to calm the protests.
The Chief of Air Staff remarked that the wanton destruction of life and property during the recent demonstration in the state by unscrupulous elements necessitated the implementation of additional security measures.
The statement also stated that Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya praised the NAF 109 Combat Reconnaissance Group for preventing looting and robbery during the protest.
