Rivers Crisis: Pro-Fubara Group Calls for Unity, Cautions Assembly

We Stand With Sim, a Rivers State sociopolitical organization, has counseled the Rivers State House of Assembly not to see the recent Supreme Court judgment as “a death sentence”.

The group stated this at its March 4, 2025, general meeting in a release signed by its coordinator, Edwin Woko.

The group renewed its support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, acknowledging the impasse the judgment had caused but insisting on reconciliation.

It instructed Fubara to reach out with an olive branch to Speaker Martin Amaewhule and the other 26 legislators and ask them to come together.

The statement also urged members of the Assembly to prioritize their constitutional duties by focusing on legislative activities and passing meaningful legislation in the interest of Rivers people.

However, the group warned that if the lawmakers proceeded with “frivolous and unwarranted” impeachment proceedings, they would oppose it through legal channels.
