Russia-Ukraine War: Trump Claims Partial Success in De-escalation Efforts

President Donald Trump of the United States stated that measures to prevent further escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war are somewhat under control.

Trump revealed this on Saturday during an interview with Clay Travis, the proprietor of the sports website Outkick Air Force One.

According to him, sensible discussions and positive connections with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy were critical to negotiating an end to the war.

US President Trump met with Putin and Zelenskyy separately last week with the aim of putting an end to the war which began when Putin signed off on the full-scale invasion of Russia’s smaller neighbor in 2022.

The talks, short of Trump’s aim of negotiating a full 30-day truce, had Putin sign on to a commitment to suspend Russian strikes on energy infrastructure for 30 days and Zelenskyy suggest that he would accept such a pause as well.
