Sanwo-Olu to Open Demurin Road, Agboyi-Ketu Streets on Thursday

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will be commissioning Demurin Road in Kosofe Local Council on Thursday, bringing another batch of projects to Lagosians.

Two more roads, Agidi and Church Street, in the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) will be commissioned.

Gbenga Omotoso, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, told a statement on Wednesday that the works will improve connectivity and make life more convenient for our citizens. The roads will be alternative connections to the 3rd Axial Road and Ikorodu Road.

Demurin-Agidi Road, a major artery connecting Ketu, a high-density area with large markets and estates, to the rest of the local government, is a significant cut-through to Ikorodu Road from the Third Axial Road in Alapere Housing Estate.

It links the newly constructed Ramond Estates and Sterling Heights Estate in Ajelogo.

Demurin-Agidi Road, by playing a crucial bypass function of taking people and goods to the always-bustling Mile 12 International Commodities Market and Owode Onirin Auto Parts Market along Ikorodu Road, connects quite a lot of other settlements in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.

As congested with traffic from having been classified as an essential bypass, Demurin-Agidi Road became substandard through increasing and ill-designed hydraulic infrastructure, reducing travel time.

The deterioration also impaired driving and commuting.

Because of the strategic economic importance of these roads, the government of Mr. Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, approved their complete rehabilitation and upgrading to a sustainable level.
