The Senate suspended legislative activity on Wednesday due to the death of Olaide Adewale Akinremi, a member of the House of Representatives.
Akinremi, who represented the Ibadan North Federal Constituency in Oyo State, died in the early hours of Wednesday following a brief illness.
Akim Rotimi, the House of Representatives’ spokesperson, revealed Akinremi’s death during plenary on Wednesday.
The Senate held a minute of silence in memory of the deceased legislator before suspending plenary and all legislative proceedings for the day.
