Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has commissioned a new 1×100 megavolt ampere 132/33 kilovolt power transformer at its substation, Maryland, Lagos State.
TCN made this known in a statement via its verified X account on Saturday.
The commissioning, according to the firm, took place on Friday at the Maryland Substation in Lagos State.
It will increase the capacity of the substation from 90 megavolt amperes to 190MVA, thereby making it 152 MW.
With the commissioning of the facility, Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company will have the opportunity to provide clients in Maryland and other sections of Lagos with more bulk electricity.
This means Ikeja DisCo would have more bulk electricity to sell to its customers in Maryland, including Anthony, Ikeja, Mile 12, Ojota, Ketu, Alausa, 7up, and environs.
“This project is part of the ongoing collaboration of TCN with FGN Power Ltd to improve bulk power transmission in Nigeria,” it reads.
