President Bola Tinubu has confirmed Mr Abdullahi Ango’s appointment as Mandate Secretary for the FCTA’s newly constituted Youth Development Secretariat.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, Mr Anthony Ogunleye, Director (Press), Office of the FCT Minister, said the appointment was an important step forward in efforts to prioritize youth development and empowerment.
He explained that the Youth Development Secretariat would act as a strong administrative structure for coordinating youth-related issues in the FCT.
According to the announcement, the secretariat will also act as a platform for the execution of youth policies and programmes.
“It will also facilitate training for skill acquisition, entrepreneurship and leadership,” according to the announcement.
Ango, from the Kuje Area Council of FCT, has a first degree in International Studies from ABU, Zaria, and a master’s degree in International Relations from Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Peace and Conflict Studies at Nasarawa State University.
