Tinubu Approves N147.9 Billion for Oyo-Ogbomoso Road Dualisation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed N147.9 billion for Oyo-Ogbomoso Road dualisation in Oyo State.

One of the president’s spokesmen, Sunday Dare, made this confirmation in a post to his X account on Monday.

The money was approved at the Federal Executive Council meeting on Monday.

According to him, the cash will help JRB Construction Company Limited complete the road project and reduce the hardships faced by road users.

“President Tinubu has approved the completion of the dualisation of the Oyo–Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State. The total cost is N147,887,810,833.87. Messrs JRB Construction Co. Ltd. will handle the completion of this all-important road project that has been delayed.

“President Tinubu, fully aware of the importance of the entire road, particularly the uncompleted Ibadan–Ilorin section, is committed to easing the difficulties faced by haulage trailers transporting goods and agricultural products from the North to Lagos, as well as the challenges experienced by road users, especially students,” he said.

It should be recalled that on 20 February 2025, the Nigerian Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, terminated the 98 km Oyo–Ogbomoso Road contract, which had been awarded to Reynolds Construction Company RCC.
