Tinubu Nominate New Bosses For NIA And DSS

President Bola Tinubu has approved the nomination of new directors-general for the National Intelligence Agency, NIA and the Department of State Services, DSS.

Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed has been appointed the new Director-General of the NIA, while Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi has been made Director-General of the DSS.

This is according to a statement by the spokesperson to President Tinubu, Ajuri Ngelale.

It said the statement reads: “Ambassador Mohammed had had a distinguished career in diplomatic service since his posting to the NIA in 1995. He had risen through the ranks to the position of Director and was appointed head of the Nigerian mission in Libya.

“The 1990 Bayero University Kano graduate had served in North Korea, Pakistan, Sudan and the State House in Abuja.”

The new DSS Director-General, Mr. Adeola Ajayi rose through the ranks to become an Assistant Director-General of the Service. He has served as State Director in Bauchi, Enugu, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Kogi.
The new appointments are coming following the resignation of the former NIA and DSS chiefs.

President Tinubu hopes the new security chiefs will work assiduously to reposition the two agencies of intelligence for better results. He charges them to bring their experience to bear in proffering solutions to the country’s security challenges through improved collaboration with sister agencies and surgical alignment with the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA.

The President is very grateful to the outgoing Directors-General of the two pivotal intelligence agencies for services rendered to the nation and wishes them success in their future endeavors.
