Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) soldiers have allegedly rescued Dr. Yohanna Mallo, a Federal College of Education, Pankshin lecturer who was kidnapped by armed men on March 1 in Plateau State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed the rescue operation in a Tuesday post on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
According to Makama, OPSH soldiers collaborated with other security organizations to carry out the operation.
“The victim, Dr. Yohanna Mallo, has been successfully rescued, debriefed, and reunited with his family,” Makama quoted an intelligence source as saying.
He further said soldiers were conducting follow-up operations to apprehend fleeing suspects who were alleged to have conducted the kidnapping.
Meanwhile, individuals have been advised to remain vigilant and report suspicious signs to security agencies to support ongoing investigations.
Operation Safe Haven, a multi-security task force that is monitoring peacekeeping missions in Plateau, Bauchi, and parts of Kaduna State, reiterated its commitment to combating security challenges and ensuring that communities are secured.
