Troops Rescue Seven Victims From Kidnappers Camp in Plateau

In a successful offensive operation, Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) troops rescued seven kidnapped victims in Plateau State’s Riyom Local Government Area (LGA).

The operation, which is under the ongoing operation LAFIYAN JAMA’A, was carried out at the Attakar high grounds in the Ganawuri district following credible intelligence reports.

According to reports, kidnappers had victims who were kidnapped on the Jos-Ganawuri road on March 7, 2025. Forces fought a battle with the kidnappers during the operation, and they were forced to withdraw to higher ground due to superior fire.

After a wide search of the area, seven individuals were rescued: Sale Umar, Muhammadu Inusa, Abdullahi Abdulrasaq, Abdulsalam Muhammad, Muhammad Hamisu, Ibrahim Maradu, and Saidu Sani, all from Bauchi state.

Also, the troops found a bundle of a blanket and clothes materials which the fleeing criminals had left behind.

After debriefing the rescued victims in order to acquire important intelligence to guide future operations, they were successfully reunited with their families.
Meanwhile, OPSH troops have accelerated operations to arrest and hold the kidnappers for prosecution.

Operation SAFE HAVEN continues to be committed to the elimination of criminality from the Joint Operations Area in the quest for maintaining long-term peace and security.
