Trump Admin to Ban Toxic Food Dyes by 2026

The Trump administration has unveiled plans to remove all eight approved petroleum-based synthetic food dyes from the U.S. food supply by the end of 2026.

The move, which has been praised by health experts, aims to reduce the use of toxic chemicals linked to a range of health issues.

At a press conference, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Marty Makary highlighted the potential risks these dyes pose, particularly to children.

“For the last 50 years, American children have increasingly been living in a toxic soup of synthetic chemicals,” Makary stated.

He cited mounting evidence connecting the additives to conditions such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), diabetes, cancer, and more.

Health advocates have long called for stricter regulations on food additives, with many supporting the ban as a step toward a safer food supply.
