President Donald Trump has signed an executive order rescinding 19 executive actions approved by former President Joe Biden.
Among the revoked orders is the Presidential Memorandum of 4 February 2021, which focused on advancing the human rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex persons around the world.
Other rescinded orders include directives on Data-Driven Response to COVID-19 and Future High-Consequence Public Health Threats, Revitalizing America’s Foreign Policy and National Security Workforce, Institutions, and Partnerships, and Increasing the Minimum Wage for Federal Contractors.
With this latest move, Trump has now reversed nearly 100 executive actions issued by Biden, with the most recent ones targeting gender policies, labor regulations, and industry oversight.
A statement from the White House emphasized that the President is committed to “continuing the review and repeal of harmful Biden administration policies to usher in a new golden age for America.”
Additionally, Trump signed an executive order aimed at reducing the size of the federal government by eliminating “unnecessary government entities.” The affected entities include the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, the Minority Business Development Agency, the U.S. Arctic Research Commission, the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, the U.S. Agency for Global Media, the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
The President’s action aligns with efforts by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to cut waste, fraud, and abuse within the federal government.
