According to the Defence Headquarters, the military has implemented operational modifications on Friday in order to provide farmers’ protection in Nigeria priority during the rainy season.
This was announced in Abuja during updates on military operations by Major Gen. Edward Buba, Director, Defence Media Operations.
According to Buba, the military has increased its intelligence gathering efforts with the goal of finding terrorists and eliminating them wherever they might be hiding or hibernating.
He declared, “Winning the war against terrorism is non-negotiable.”
Buba claimed that during the previous seven days, troops had neutralized 220, detained 395 individuals, and freed 202 captives who had been kidnapped in various operations.
The general went on to say that the troops had found 432 different types of weaponry, including 9,004 different types of ammunition, three PKT guns, one G3 rifle, eighteen locally made firearms, and 83 AK-47 rifles.
Additional ammunition includes 2,064 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 401 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 200 rounds of 7.62 x 54mm, 154 rounds of 7.62 x 51mm, 195 live cartridges, and 17 magazines. There are also 5,893 rounds of 7.62mm special munitions.
